Project Coordinator – Research Governance, Tasmanian Government

The Health Professional Policy and Advisory Services Group (HPPAS) consolidates specialist advice to the Secretary of the Department of Health on health professional, policy and clinical issues impacting the Tasmanian health system. This includes supporting the health system's function through specific advice on clinical and research governance to support a health system driven by safety, quality and continuous improvement. 

This position is responsible for providing high level, authoritative, specialised advice and support in relation to research governance of clinical trials in Tasmania. The core objectives of this role are to:

  • Coordinate the implementation of the Tasmanian Project of the Commonwealth funded Encouraging More Clinical Trials in Australia initiative. 
  • Ensure research governance initiatives are aligned to Agency policy priorities.
  • Provide high level project management and authoritative advice to a range of stakeholders and business units on relevant research governance projects, programs and initiatives. 
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with a range of key stakeholders to support the implementation of clinical governance reform activity.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in a health research environment and knowledge of research processes and standards. 
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in health sciences or law.
